Duane Rousselle is a practicing Lacanian psychoanalyst and Canadian sociological theorist. He is also a visiting Associate professor at the University College of Dublin, University College of Cork, and Nazarbayev University. His approach to psychoanalysis is oriented by the New Lacanian School and the World Association of Psychoanalysis. His main teaching area is Classical, Contemporary, and Advanced Sociological Theory. He has taught courses in Social Problems, and in the Sociology of Healthcare, Sociology of Childhood, and Sociology of Knowledge. He has published numerous books and articles in the field. He has also appeared in a wide variety of media including newspapers, radio, television, podcasts, and film. His unique pedagogy focuses on the construction of forms of scholarly engagement that serve as a counterpart to what he identifies as “university discourse.” Duane is the recipient of the Governor General of Canada Gold Medal for Excellence in Scholarship and the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick Medal for Distinction in Scholarship. Duane’s psychoanalytic consultation practice is listed on the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP), PsychologyToday.com, and the International Association of Therapists.
