Become a Patron!Klara Naszkowska, Ph.D., Cultural Historian specialising in the early history of psychoanalysis. Founding director of the International Association for Spielrein Studies, 2019/2020 Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University. Author of the book The Living Mirror: The Representation of Doubling Identities in the British and Polish Women’s Literature (1846-1938) (2014), most recent paper in English: “Passions, Politics, and Drives: Sabina Spielrein in Soviet Russia” (2019), and of many articles on Spielrein in Polish and English. Klara is currently working on a book on Jewish women-psychoanalysts and the great wave of European intellectual immigration in the 1930s to the United States and teaching on this subject at Blanton-Peale Institute.
Dr. Naszkowska is the main organizer of the First International Conference for the International Association for Spielrein Studies, “Sabina Spielrein and the Early Female Pioneers of Psychoanalysis” with Adrienne Harris, Ph.D., John Launer, Ph.D. and Bernhard Bolech, Ph.D.
